You Broke the Golden Rule is a one-of-a-kind modern art painting by artist Janet Antepara.
You Broke the Golden Rule is my abstract study of the never-ending conflict between Palestine and Israel. Two peoples, rich with tradition, beauty and love but separated by chaos, war and a wall. The deliberate use of two canvases shows the separation within these two groups. The canvases are painted with various shades of gold paint and gold leaf against a patina-like green, all representing the richness in culture of both worlds. The canvases are crowded with barrier-like structures that block any passage through. All are enveloped and connected from above by black paint, a representation of chaos and war.
This painting was part of an installation at 40lbs Coffee Bar in Portland, OR.
