Connections is a one-of-a-kind modern art painting by artist Janet Antepara.
I was sitting in my studio just daydreaming when all of a sudden the idea for this painting just popped into my head. So I drew it out on a piece of paper and got to painting.
Connections plays around with the notion that everything is energy, and all energy is connected. The two multicolored battery-like structures represent our connected energy. The interaction and overlapping of shapes and colors within these structures illustrate the synergy and magnetism that occurs when we interact with one another. That interaction creates an explosive discharge of energy that manifests itself as an arc on the top of the painting. The bottom part of the painting depicts the connection between our manmade and natural worlds. The structured cityscape on the left is grounded to the natural world by orbs of green earth and blue energy. All of that is surrounded and connected by a white current of electricity that creates a conveyor belt of energy that flows and loops, creating an endless charge of energy going through everything.
